Bonus Features - Texting
"I hate this." Rayne scowled at the phone in her hands. "The letters are so tiny, and every time I try and touch one, I hit like three."
"Is that why your texts are so weird?" Dustbunny asked, he was laying on the couch, propped up by a small pillow.
The flashing glow of colors on his face and the rapid press of his thumbs indicated that he was involved in a matter related to the highest of scores. It was after dark, and he and Rayne were in one of the many trailers set up around the film studio.
"Yes," Rayne grit her teeth and deleted the sentence and tried again. "This is why I prefer calling people. Its just a couple of buttons, and that is something that I can manage."
It was at that moment, that David came out of the bathroom, steam drifting out as he brushed his teeth. He was still wearing his ball cap, because he was always wearing it.
He froze when he saw Rayne, dressed in a casual t-shirt and shorts, sitting at the end of the couch with Dust on the other end.
"And what is she doing here?" He asked, mouth full of foamy toothpaste.
"She wanted me to teach her how to use her phone." Dust said, not looking up from his game.
"No, you know what this is stupid," Rayne huffed and stood up. "I'm just going to call from now on."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa," David held his hands up, like he was trying to calm her down. "Let's be civilized for a minute, and think about this."
"David, I'm not going to argue with you," Rayne rolled her eyes. "It's a phone. A phonetic device. It is designed so that people can speak to one another."
"Yeah, and look, I get that some people have that point of view," David nodded, wiping some toothpaste off his mouth with the back of his hand. "But that's not what we use phones for anymore, okay? Calling is for like the people who spam other people, and Gram Grams."
"I mean," Dustbunny did look up this time. "You can speak into it, so that it can turn your words into a text, and then you can send the text."
"Yes," David pointed. "That is acceptable. You calling me, and trying to say words, no. No ma'am."
"You do understand how absolutely preposterous that sounds, right?" Rayne frowned.
David didn't respond immediately.
He reached into his back pocket, and typed something out really quick. Rayne pursed her lips in a straight line, blinking. Then looked at her phone when it buzzed.
Yes.
