Bread Bone Update! 4/24/2026

Welcome dear friends to the very first "official" update for Bread Bone! I sort of had a prior update page when I first created the site that was more of an "About" page, so this is the first one where I actually have updates to share!

Why Updates?

If you're a fan of video games, you're probably familiar with reading the "Patch Notes." These ever important documents often list both large and small changes within a game, and provide accesible information for those who don't feel like diving into the nitty gritty of the game code.

Due to the nature of Bread Bone being both a small reading platform, as well as a lore depository for my stories, I anticipate making lots of changes. It is my goal then to list these changes for you to see, and access easily. Each month, or as I make substantial progress, I'll list the changes, and hopefully some links to go with it, that way as long as you are keeping up with these occasional updates then you will be... well, up to date!

The Books!

Yes, these updates will be ESPECIALLY useful for the books. If you are a member of Bread Bone then you have access to my library! Pretty much everything that I'm working on will be available for you to read! Keep in mind however, that these books, until they are published, are a WORK IN PROGRESS! That means that I'm prone to rewrites and various forms of book polishing. Most of these changes will be relatively minor, for example, rewriting a scene to make it more clear, or fixing obvious errors. Occasionally though, I may make a direct change to the plot, and I want you to be able to check it out without rereading through the whole book!

New Character Profile Pictures!

One of my goals for Bread Bone has been MORE ART! As I developed more pages, I realized that I was re-using and recycling a lot of art that I'd created over the years. While naturally, some pictures may find themselves in multiple places, I want to ensure that there is a substantial amount of art that makes each page feel fresh and unique, not simply recycled in different ways.

To that end, I went to Vgen, and found some really cool artists! One of them was Ynartistic, who created the profile pictures for the characters of The Broken World. For me, this is a really big step forward.

In an age where AI is everywhere, and you can't seem to get away from it, I want to make sure that Bread Bone becomes a place where human art and creativity is deeply valued. To that end, I've also added a FEATURED ARTIST section, on the Artwork page. That way, as more art is created, and more artists commissioned, we can hopefully help draw attention their work!

Finally, a thank you. The website is still in its very early stages, and so far have only advertised it to friends, family, and a couple of specific enemies. I appreciate everyone who has checked out the website, offered feedback, or even just shown interest! I expect a lot of work, and a lot of changes to be made, and I look forward to seeing where this adventure goes!
